A few months back, I wrote a post about a monster I made for my grandson. He needed a monster to protect him from other monsters when he slept. I named him " Woo, the Rodanthian ", not sure why.
Recently, we visited both grandson and monster. My grandson had altered his appearance a bit by cutting his hair and modifying a doll sweater to fit him. When we were getting ready to leave, he made a serious request on behalf of his furry friend. Could I make some more clothes for his monster? Perhaps I would also be willing to make a trunk and fill it with clothes?"Of course" I said, "but I will have to take Woo home with me to fit them. He could be gone for a few weeks. Would that be alright?" So, Woo got in my car and has returned to the studio, somewhat worse for the wear.
As I work on a trunk and clothes I wonder what Woo has become. With two doll obsessed sisters, I imagine dressing him up in gross scary clothes and pouncing on a house full of pink Barbies may have something to do with the need for repairs, a new wardrobe and a fix up. He really is frightening and when you think about it, a house full of fluffy pink things can be a very hostile environment for a 6 year old, all out, bone stomping, dirt loving boy. When Woo returns, he will have his work cut out for him. I'm sure there is a lot of terrorizing yet to be done .
